Musicians
Jill Rothberg, flute, was
born in Winnipeg, and has studied music at the University of
Western Ontario, the Banff Centre of Fine Arts, and in England
and Italy. She received a B.Mus. from McGill University and an M.Mus from l'Université de Montréal, both in Flute
Performance. She currently teaches music in several
Montreal high schools and at the
CAMMAC
Music Centre in the Laurentians and is active as a
chamber musician with several ensembles, including her
favourite - Trio Amore!
Karen Bell, violin, is a
graduate of McGill University. She is a founding member
of Trio Amore and performs in L’Ensemble
Sinfonia de Montréal and
l'Orchestre Symphonique Pop de Montréal .Her lifelong passion
for violin playing began at the age
of seven when she convinced her parents to sign her up in the
Suzuki violin program. She further enhanced her musical
training under the tutelage of Eva Svenssen and Andrée Azar
of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Karen now shares her love
of music with her three sons. She teaches privately, runs
violin programs in local elementary schools in Montreal and
will be teaching chamber music for children this summer at
the
CAMMAC
Music Centre, located in the Laurentians.
Gillian Delplace, cello, is
a graduate of McGill University (B.Mus, L.Mus). Her love of
music has seen her participate in many ensembles, both here
in Montreal and in Toronto. She is a founding member of L'Ensemble
Sinfonia de Montreal and Trio Amore.
She also teaches part-time, specializing in adults. Gill's
goal has always been to foster an appreciation of music
making, no matter what your level, a philosophy she passes
on to her students.
